This assignment was to analyze an animal. Break the animal down into it's basic primitive shapes and play with those shapes in iterations while working to preserve the essence of the animal. Playing with the concept of small, medium, and large- I've stripped the head, body and appendages to their most basic, fundamental visual functionality. Overall appeal of each iteration was important to maintain as well. The animal I chose to work with is a Coyote. I really have no experience drawing 4 legged mammals, so I figured this would be a fun challenge. Also, the only other cartoon coyote I'm familiar with is of course the devious Wile E. Coyote. This left a wide open field in which it was not as difficult a subject as say a turtle for avoiding cliches and copying. I probably did it anyway, but at least I gave myself a chance!
